Known By Our Love: Choosing Grace in a Divided World
In a world filled with opposition, division, and hate, I’m reminded of something simple yet profound: Jesus died for us all.
His love is not limited to those who think like us, believe like us, or live like us. His love reaches every single person.
Love That Stays
This week, I had the gift of celebrating a birthday with my firstborn. While our beliefs and choices may not always align, my love remains.
Because love isn’t about agreement. It’s about presence. It’s about showing up, again and again, with a heart that reflects the One who first loved us.
And I want to teach my youngest daughter this:
Love doesn’t mean we always understand or agree, but it does mean we show up. It means we choose kindness, we keep our hearts open, and we reflect Jesus even when it’s hard.

Truth and Grace Together
We don’t have to compromise truth to extend love.
We don’t have to see eye-to-eye to look one another in the eye with kindness.
And we don’t have to understand everything to trust that God does.
Love and truth were never meant to be enemies. Jesus modeled this perfectly. He held fast to truth while extending compassion to every person He met. That’s the balance I long to possess and pass down: to stand firm in faith, while being soft in spirit.
Teaching Our Daughters
My prayer is that we, as moms and daughters, would learn to walk this out together:
To hold tightly to truth while extending grace.
To remember that our identity is rooted in Christ.
And to live so that others see Jesus in how we treat them.
Because at the end of the day, the world will not recognize us by our opinions, our church attendance, or our checklists.
Jesus said it Himself:
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” — John 13:35
Let’s raise daughters who are known for their love.

Reflection
- How do you practice love when it’s hard?
- What’s one way you can model grace to your daughter this week?
Mama, remember: Love doesn’t erase truth. Love shows the world who Jesus is.
