Adventure on Sugar Loaf Mountain
Recently, we hiked Sugarloaf Mountain—over 2.5 miles of ever changing terrains and steep climbs.
Going in, I told myself, “I’ll go as far as I can, and when I get tired, I’ll let the girls continue.” But something stirred in me as we started the climb…

I remembered the times I had made it to the top before. I remembered the view. I remembered the joy.
And I realized—I’ve let this thing called menopause start stealing that joy. I’ve quietly accepted the fatigue, the weight gain, the settling as just part of “getting older.” But today, I chose something different.

Today, I decided this climb wasn’t going to be just physical—it was going to be spiritual.
So I pressed on. A little slower than the girls, sure. But I made it. And not just to the top—we all climbed higher than we ever had before.
The hardest climbs really do bring the best views.
I’m reminded today: we don’t have to surrender to what life hands us—we get to choose how we respond.
So here’s to every woman who’s been quietly sitting back, feeling like the mountain is too much. You can still climb. You can still conquer. You can still reach that view.
It might look different than it used to—but it will be just as beautiful.
